چکیده

lnillbition experiments with paraoxon revealed two types of acetylcholinesterases in Panagrellus redivivus i.e. a fast (F-component) and a slow reacting component (S-component). The F-component was thermostable and inactivated by Triton-X100, while the S-component was thermolabile and insensitive for Triton-X-100. The bimolecular rate constant for inhibition by paraoxon was 25.5 x 103 M-1min' for the F-component and 9.2 x 103 M-'min' for the S-component. Comparable differences in sensitivity between the two components were observed with oxamyl and aldicarb.

Mechanism of action of organophosphorus and carbamate insecticides.

Organophosphorus and carbamate insecticides are toxic to insects and mammals by virtue of their ability to inactivate the enzyme acetylcholinesterase. This review addresses the mechanism of inhibition of acetylcholinesterase by organophosphorus and carbamate esters, focusing on structural requirements necessary for anticholinesterase activity. The inhibition of acetylcholinesterase by these com...

Carbamate and Organophosphorus Nematicides: Acetylcholinesterase inhibition and Effects on Dispersal.

The sensitivities of acetylcholinesterases (ACHE) from the fungus-feeder Aphelenchus avenae and the plant-parasitic species Helicotylenchus dihystera and Pratylenchus penetrans and the housefly, Musca domestica, were compared using a radiometric assay which utilized H(3) acetylcholine as a substrate. Nematode ACHE were generally less sensitive to inhibition by organophosphorns and carbamate pes...

Docking Studies, Synthesis, and In-vitro Evaluation of Novel Oximes Based on Nitrones as Reactivators of Inhibited Acetylcholinesterase

Acetylcholinesterase has important role in synaptic cleft. It breaks down the acetylcholineatcholinergic synapsesand terminates the cholinergic effects. Some chemical agents likeorganophosphorus compounds (OPCs) including nerve agents and pesticides react withacetylcholinesteraseirreversibly. They inhibit normal biological enzyme action and resultin accumulation of acetylcholineand show toxic e...

The chemical constituents of the fungus Stereum sp.

Four new compounds, including a sesquiterpene and three aromatic compounds, and a known compound were isolated from a culture broth of the fungus Stereum sp. The novel sesquiterpene was determined to be stereumone A ((+)-2,3,4a,5,6,7,8a,9-octahydro-5-hydroxy-6,6,9-trimethyl-4,8a-epoxynaphtho[2,3-b]furan-8(8H)-one; 1), and the three new aromatic compounds were elucidated as 3,5-dihydroxy-4-(3-me...

Aminopeptidases in Caenorhabditis elegans and Panagrellus redivivus: detection using peptide and non-peptide substrates.

Aminopeptidase activities were detected in extracts of the free-living nematodes Caenorhabditis elegans and Panagrellus redivivus using the aminoacyl substrate L-alanine-4-nitroanilide. The activities exhibited similarities in Km (C. elegans = 2.22 mM; P. redivivus = 2.09 mM) and specific activity (C. elegans = 1.38 +/- 0.43 mAU min(-1) x g(-1); P. redivivus, 1.23 +/- 0.18m AU min(-1) microg(-1...
